Hot Fun in the Summertime. . . .

So I starting a blog during the busiest time of the year turned out to be an almost epic fail (I'm baaaack, so all is not lost!). It has been one wild and crazy summer so far!

From amazing brides, events, and (GASP) celebrity clients,  to guest spots on ABC and Fox Networks - I have been really busy and incredibly lucky :) 

So today I thought I would just drop some knowledge on staying fresh and pretty in the heat! 

I am a HUGE fan of not looking like an oil slick, and the summer in the Mid-Atlantic is generally pretty sticky - so I have products for both face and hair that have helped me and my clients look less like sweaty puff balls and more like sculpted summer gods and goddesses. 

Face:

I err on the side of caution - for long summer day shoots, event, hot lights in the studio,  and especially brides and their parties - I like to Prep and Prime like a mofo - here is what I do:

First - use Moisturizer and SPF (I am currently using Dermalogica with SPF 50 - but I LOVE to use Embryolisse Hydra Mat on my clients.

1. Urban Decay Complexion Prep Spray
2. Urban Decay Brightening Primer (use what you like, I'm just addicted to this right now)
3. Urban Decay Potion Eye Primer - LOVE LOVE LOVE - this is like cement - truly longwear!!!
4. Foundation/Concealer/Color Cosmetics/Setting Powder
5. Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray

Generally after this I only have to do light touch ups with colorless powder and lip color - it LASTS.

For hair - I use the following and so far this summer all my shoots have been awesome:

American Crew - Liquid Wax - Amazing for Short Styles and Men

WOW One Minute Transformation Cream - I just used this this morning for an outdoor running scene - makes the hair look soft and smooth!! 

Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hair Spray - like magic in a bottle - and for frizzzzzzy hair like mine, I spray it on when my hair is wet and it keeps the curl intact! Great for all types of hair  - LOVE IT.
